I would recommend if you are going to be sending these files out to be used on a server other then you own, such as a clients server, leave the file as .php other wise the system admin for the client server will have to reconfigure the server to also parse .php4 files.

But, if it's your server and you have full control over it there is no reason you couldn't use .php4 or .aspSucks if you wanted to :)

Just don't expect other servers to pick them up :)
