Don't put the array definitions in quotes:
Should be either:
foreach($myCalTime as $calTime => $calArrayTime){
$calArray[$calArrayTime['day']] = array('NULL','linked-day
'.strtolower($calArrayTime['reason']),$calArrayTime['day']);
}
or
foreach($myCalTime as $calTime => $calArrayTime){
$calArray[] = array($calArrayTime['day'] => array('NULL','linked-day
'.strtolower($calArrayTime['reason']),$calArrayTime['day']));
