I like to use techniques that have wide version applicability. Namespaces are a great feature that I look forward to leveraging, but at this time they would cause any application to become backward incompatible with any PHP version less than 5.3. As it stands I've always been particularly anal about using long class/function names using the prefix technique to prevent collision.
