Well, I did somethin similar...
$arDate = explode("/", $nacimiento);
if(!checkdate($arDate[1], $arDate[0], $arDate[2]))
$nacimiento = '';
Just need to set the variable $nacimiento to the empty string if it's
not a valid date.
