This line break isn't in the actual source, is it?...  That would do what
you describe...

Email was not originally designed for sending anything but text.  Everything
else has been grafted on afterwards.

In fact, sending html email is generally a Bad Idea unless recipients can
opt out of it -- Many recipients can't read html email, others throw it away
immediately for security reasons, etc.

I believe you need to send the HTML as an attachment.
