I'm not even sure this is possible without doing a client side java applet of some sort.
We are considering porting a standard client/server application to the web which updates itself dynamically in real time based on values in a database. For instance, a field on the screen will change in real time between 'Pending', 'Working', 'Cancelled', etc. etc. based on a flag in the database. What would be the best tools for the job for an application of this sort? I've used PHP extensively and don't really see how it could be used in this case. Any ideas?
