Here's what I use to detect Mac Netscape 4.x:
if((eregi("Mozilla", getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT"))) &&
(!eregi("MSIE", getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT"))) &&
(!eregi("Gecko", getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT"))) &&
(eregi("Mac", getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT"))))
Do you really need to differentiate between 4.x versions? It looks like
you're matching any 4.x version.
