Here's my expression:
$data = "xyz_%split%_$10.21";
preg_match ("/^.*_\%split\%_$(\d*\.\d*)/", $data, $match);
Returns nothing (escaping the $ with a \ does the same), but this returns
10.21:
preg_match ("/^.*_\%split\%_\D*(\d*\.\d*)/", $data, $match);
