I wonder if it is possible to retrieve emails from an email account
say in hotmail, yahoo, or any other email provider.

EXPLAINING MY IDEA (in other words):
I mean making a script that goes to my email in, say Hotmail, and get all the messages and store them in a database on my own site. so that when I or any subscribed user in the site enters his account, he finds new messages directed to him. Of course the email here is an email account on the server of the hosting company of the site.
I hope my exlanation does not need an explanation.
