All,

I am in the process of upgrading an existing I18n system and plan on using
the intl extension + ICU. I understand that support for externalization of
resources will not be implemented for some time, so we are building a custom
string localization system for the time being. I would like to make sure
that we can replace this with intl's implementation later on, however, so I
was wondering if anyone could tell me what resource formats (e.g., XLIFF or
TMX) the intl extension might someday support. I would also be interested in
knowing what type of ids/tokens might be used to reference localized
strings. Will they be numeric or strings?

Thank you for your time.
