I'm trying to compiled PHP 4.0.3 from a FreeBSD port. Now, I've had this
working before, and I've added a couple configure options. One of them is
the swf functions. I d/l the libswf library and extracted the files to the
specified folders, and the installation finds the files and proceeds
normally until the end of the script, where it says:
> > *** Warning: This library needs some functionality provided by -lswf.

when

Anyone know what this is, and how to get rid of it?

I can't get PHP4 to compile on my machine. I am at my wits' end on
this. I need to upgrade to PHP4 from 3.0.18 for a particular
application I would like to run.
If anyone has any ideas on what I might try, I would be most
grateful for any input.
I've tried compiling with every version of PHP4 I can get my
hands on. php-3.0.18 compiles fine this way. Everything works,
php serves postgresql database stuff wonderfully. I'm doing all
this as root, so there's not a permissions error anywhere. With
every version of PHP4 I've tried, I get the same error.

Hi
I am having problems with php 4.0.6.
If I click on a https hyperlink I get redirected to the correct page but in
IE 5 and netscape 4.75 the padlock Icon does not change to show the page is
secure.
If I use php 4.0.4 then the same link works perfectly.
I am using apache web server.
Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks in advance.
Mark
Hi All,
I'm running Suse Linux 7.1, Kernet 2.4
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Apache and it's up
and running OK
It is installed in :
/usr/local/apache
To Install PHP, i have downloaded the Source and put it in:
/usr/local/src/php-4.0.6
To Install PHP I have done this ( ihave specified the location of apxs
as Suse Installed an Apache server also, but I want the one I've
installed to /usr/local/apache):
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
Then I type:
make
make install
Then I edit /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
The required lines ARE there, ie.
LoadModule php4_module libexec/libphp4.so
AddModule mod_php4.c
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
I have also copied /usr/local/src/php-4.0.6/php.ini-dist to
/usr/local/lib/php.ini
Now the problem :
I then go to start my Server as follows:
cd /usr/local/apache/bin
./httpd
BUT Then I get this:
"Syntax error on line 236 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
API module structure `php4_module' in file
/usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so is garbled - perhaps this is not an
Apache module DSO? "
Line 236 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf is :
LoadModule php4_module libexec/libphp4.so
And If I check the file type of libphp4.so as follows:
cd /usr/local/apache/libexec/
file libphp4.so
I get :
"libphp4.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1, not
stripped "
So....Can anybody Help ???
I don't have MySQL installed yet - do I need to have that first ???
Thanks,
Martin Stephenson.
