So I did what was suggested, I grabbed the php_fuctions.c or whatever it was called off of php-stable, reconfigured, make clean, make, make install and this is what I end up with:
Making install in . make[1]: Entering directory `/root/php-4.2.1' make[1]: *** [install-sapi] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/php-4.2.1' make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 At least now it gets past the problem during make...
