I don't know of the book, but you should take a look at the php.ini configuration section of the PHP manual to see how to turn on global registration. I should also point out that that approach is discouraged with newer versions of PHP because of the potential security issues connected to it. You could look into using the $_ special arrays (like $_POST or $_GET) instead.
