----------------------------------------------------------------------
--- Begin Message --- i've used this combination for a logn time now. a few days ago i had to format my hard drive. i installed w2k in the following order:

1) windows 2000
2) windows 2000 sp3
3) iis
4) iis patch
5) php 4.2.3
6) mysql 3.23.53
7) zend optimizer

this was how i installed it all the time. but this time something went wrong. i usually run my php installations with the .exe file provided and then i'll install the php extenstions and change php.ini

this time whenever i load a php page i get an error "CGI ERROR.... headers were sent... blah blah"

i read thru php.net documenation and i did this:

1) went to my web site's "Home Directory"
2) clicked on the "Configuration" button
3) clicked on the "App Mappings" and selected ".php"
4) clicked on "Edit" and checked "Checked that file exists"
5) change the mapping to "php.exe %s %s"

that solved it! funny thing is when i use Netscape 4.79 to open my php pages it prompts for a username and password. it works fine on IE 6 and Netscape 7.

the worst thing is my php pages "hang" sometimes. they just stop loading for some reason. i am not sure what to do right now. i get interrupted once every half hour? to restart my IIS? its driving me nuts!

i hope someone has got some answers here, any help would be greatly appreciated!

sincerely,

vincent (raydenx)
