The solution (and the only time I got php to compile on RH():
Uninstall all php-related RPMs
Remove any ghost files (due to pear)
Rebuild from SRPM
You may end up installing a bunch of *-devel packages, but other than that, at
least I'm linked back to Postgres 7.3 libraries...
Now to figure out how to get 4.3.0 to build on RH8...
