Tim, I read on a different list about making sure you changed the ini file to the upgraded version. Im not a linux person so the ini file Im sure is something else but, the message was the upgrade will not change everything necessary. That was the jist of it.

shows 4.2.2

Environment:
RedHat 8
Apache 2.x
php 4.2.2 installed as part of the base config

How Installed/upgraded to 4.3:
./configure
make
make install

What did I miss?

<PRE>I have followed the installation procedure, changed the register. When I try
to run the test program, I get the 403 error. Then when I change the
Inetpub/wwwroot director to accept scripts and execute, I get the can't
locate page error. Any ideas?

I have a solaris 8/apache combo, and am trying to install PHP 4.3. i
currently have 4.2.3 on this lpar of the box. When i try to 'make install'
for 4.3 i get this when trying to run a /bin/sh libtool --silent etc etc
etc.......

Output line too long.

gcc: -E required when input is from standard input

that is the last 6 lines spit out, but attached is that final command that
it died on. it's about 40 lines. is there a way to set the -E? will that
make it get by this??

Has anyone had issues with this?

my configure is --
./configure --prefix=/devweb/test/usr-local/php
--with-config-file-path=/devweb/test/usr-local/php/php.ini
--with-mysql=/devweb/test/usr-loca
l/mysql --with-zlib --enable-ftp --with-gd --with-pdf=/usr-local
--with-apxs=/devweb/test/usr-local/apache/bin/apxs --enable-magic-quotes
--ena

thanks for any assitance you can offer up.
