I'm running on WIndows Me & I've upgrated PHP 4.2.1 to PHP 4.3.0 (both binary distr
for Windows). Separately php.exe works well, but using php4apache2.dll with Apache
2.0.36 (Win binary dist) fails with err ERROR_GEN_FAILURE (31) message "Cannot load
D:/server/PHP/sapi/php4apache2.dll into server" on "LoadModule php4_module
d:/server/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll", while old PHP as SAPI module works normally with
the same configuration.
I'm sure all dlls are on path (both Apache's & PHP's - I add ALL dirs & subdirs to
be sure), I've not loaded any extensions in my php.ini & tried to use the default
configuration too.
At least, somebody say, where (by what function in Apache's, Window's or PHP's DLLs)
this error can be raised: I've got functions call tracer, but both it & my machine are
too slow to log EVERY function call in EVERY lib.

Recompiling worked fine.. Thanks for all the help..

--- Begin Message --- I had the same problem under Solaris. The loader couldn't find libexpat.so because it is not in its standard path.
Try adding this env variable before launching Apache:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH; LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
(not tested under Linux)

Hi everyone!
Have anyone made a sucessfull installation off GNU aspell and PHP? I'm
getting an error "Makefile:81: *** missing separator. Stop." when compiling a
language directory
I use:
aspell-0.50.3
aspell-en-0.51-0
I also tried to use pspell-.12.2
I thought if I don't install the langage now I can allways do it afterwards but
php also complains that it can't find path either aspell or pspell. Even if
I've installed them without any error accept for the lang. dir. (above).

Thank you
Regards
Peter

Hey there,

Hope one of you can help me out with this......

I have been trying to compile PHP 4.3.0 on a Red Hat 8.0 system for about
three weeks now and it will not compile. When running the configure script,
it keeps on exiting with this error:

configure: error: can not run test program while cross compiling

I tried a lot to fix this, but I think it's the fact that configure says
that my GCC is a cross compiler... On other systems where I compiled PHP
4.3.0. the first lines of the configure output showed that the installed GCC
is not a cross-compiler, while my first lines tell me GCC IS a cross
compiler...

I am getting kind of annoyed after all this time ;-) Is there anyone who can
help me out ?

Thanks in advance,
Michiel.

There you will find updated RPMs for both apache2(httpd) and php-4.3.0.

It worked for me. HTH,

Hello!

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a different location for the php.ini
file when using the iPlanet web server plug-in? Since we are using several instances
of iWS on our server we want different PHP config for them. The config defaults to
/usr/local/lib/php.ini as specified at compile time.

Thanks in advance /jonas

Windows 98, Apache 1.3.19, PHP 4.0.4 (was trying 4.3 but reverted until
problem solved), AMD CPU

I've been trying to install PHP on my computer for days but get a problem
with Apache:

"Syntax error on line 203 of c:/apache/conf/http.conf: Cannot load
c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll into server: (1157) One of the library files
needed to run this application can not be found"

I've tried moving the various DLL's etc around various directories but
always get the same error message.

My current install went as follows:
1) Uninstalled Apache, deleted directories for Apache and PHP, rebooted and
reinstalled Apache 1.3.19. Worked fine so Stopped Apache.
2) Checked my autoexec.bat included c:\WIN98;c:\WIN98\SYSTEM32 (WIN98 is my
%WINDOWS% folder)
3) Extracted PHP 4.0.4 to c:\php
4) Renamed php.ini-dist to php.ini and opened in HomeSite making these
changes:
    a) doc_root = c:\Apache\htdocs
    b) extension_dir = c:\php\extensions\ [was .\]
5) Moved new php.ini to c:\WIN98\
6) Moved php4ts.dll & php4ts.lib to c:\WIN98\SYSTEM32\
7)Opened c:\Apache\conf\httpd.conf in Homesite making these changes:
    a) LoadModule php4-module c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll (to line 203
[tried with \'s but no change])
    b) AddType application/x-httpd-php .php (line 769)
8) Checked php4apache.dll was were I said it was. Checked php4ts.dll and
php4ts.lib were in SYSTEM32
9) Saved open files and exited Homesite, then re-started Apache and lo the
same freaking error msg

This is driving me nuts... please help.
Many thanks.

P.S. I also tried placing php4ts.dll and php4ts.lib in the /sapi directory
with php4apache.dll as per Stephen Edmonds post of 7th feb.
