Don't use the users file name at all. Create a table, use AutoInc, give the files references to the AutoInc. The table contains info about what the document is about - a column for committee number, a column for date, a column for ID of person uploading, plus anything else that you need. Don't put the files in the database, but refer to them by details found in the database. >> 2) Only allow the person who uploaded the file to change the file, >> i.e. if they accidently uploaded the wrong file to be able to upload a >> new one. If the person who uploads the file has their ID in the database for that document... -- Pete Clark http://www.hotcosta.com http://www.spanishholidaybookings.com Community email addresses: Post message: [email protected] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Shortcut URL to this page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/php-list Yahoo!
