Hey Pete, If you are logging in as a user named admin then you are probably just a high level user on the system. Try using the 'su' command to change to the root account after you have logged in. Most likely your hosting provider is the one with root access. You should call them up and find out what their policy is on getting root (no more auto updates from the company, less support for the OS, etc). What hosting provider are you using?
