A couple of things I would check: 1. make sure that the version.php file is up on the server. 2. if it is, make sure you've got the latest STABLE release. Don't try the new Beta version the foundation just released. By all accounts, it isn't even Alpha ready. 3. You can head over to www.opensourcematters.org and look for support there. They are the core developers that have broken from Miro and the Mambo foundation and started Joomla (same as mambo right now with a different name - read more at OSM). The forums at OSM are very active and filled with people willing to help.
