Our banking site has a timeout feature where the browser is redirected to a new page after a certain period of inactivity. This is accomplished with Javascript (required to use this site) using a countdown timer. When the timer reaches zero the window.location is set to a new URL where the session is destroyed, requiring a new login. If the user performs some activity (usually loading a new page), the counter begins again.
