If you give your client good service, why would your client change to
another programmer?

And anyone can read your code, it just is more difficult to read for
anyone, including yourself. So it takes anyone longer to fix,
including yourself.

If your client asked me "Is this good code, can I rely on this
programmer?", I would probably say no, you should change your
programmer, because amendments are going to take longer (and cost you
more).

I think writing your code this way works *against* you, not *for* you.
