I would make one suggestion to reset guesses to null when you the players
guess = the random number.
{
print "My number was $number and you got it in $guessCounter tries!
CONGRATZ!!!";
$guesses ="";
}
Also, the $guesses++; in your first random number should be moved to the
code it executes when the guess is equal to the random number. Otherwise, if
the guess is correct on the third try, the program will report the player
took 2 tries before guessing right.
