actually asp.net has a feature that may suite the
original purposes. You can execute another aspx
without leaving the current aspx.

as for php. I am not sure how you can simulate this.
It may do good to look into buffering page output! In
theory it can be used to have the same effect. Cause
technically a page wont load until certain elements
are passed to it. It depends on the browser. if the
entire output is buffered then i guess that will delay
the browser rendering it.
