(Slapping my head)

That is not what Ian was asking...

Anybody can make a page with a textarea and a submit button and not have the
application quit.
So the question:
>> What is the script doing when it quits?

Means of course:

The textarea has a name, say 'foo'

What processing of $_POST["foo"], $_GET["foo"] or $_REQUEST["foo"] is being
done in the script that so mysteriously crashes? A snippet of the php code
might be useful...
