Hello All, My name is Christopher and I am a student of Human Services. I am interested in many things and that includes PHP and MySQL as these to products are going to help me acheve a big goal in my life and also be used as a means of demorstating a part of bring services to others.
I am trying to build a simple system in to I have the funding to higher a developer to help with the very complex of the system. This system to start off with be a very very basic system of taking a file from a website (IRS) and prossess it to only take some infromation from it and then make that infromation and put it on a website, as time goes then I would like to added a lot into it which I am some what able to do. Now the seeking help put. Would some one be willing to help me make the basic code for retiving and possessing two type of things from these raw files. I can creat the database fields but I don't have a clue how to have the system download from a site and then prossess that file and only have the information that I want added to the database. I am probly sure this is not hard and I just have not notice from what I have read to do this. OK, the raw file is defined by char not a marker so for ex: first name field starts at the far left and goes to char 25 then 26 to 50 is last name and 51 to 2 is the state and so on. if a basic code was made to do say this ex: I would be able to go from there. Thank any and evey one that is willing to help me. This project that I would like to do has been some thing I wanted to do for a long time. I know the whole system to be made is going to cost alot of money and I would like to have at less a page that shows the infromation so I can then show people that may be intested in helping with the funding of the system would see why its need as there is a lot of data that is not out there that I have access to and would like to make open to people that are looking for it.
