have a Godaddy host and optioned for a autoinstall from the softwares
section.
The true joy is that I can develop remotely. I worked on my first
Mambo client's site from the beach this summer on my laptop. I didn't
have to lug all my software with me. I uploaded all the necessary
files prior.
To the meat of your question, yes, a simple Mambo search in Google
will yield results. As a beginner, I suggest using a sample template
and moving from there. Your Modules section from the admin page will
control the login and contact etc. I have a contact form for simple
costomer inquiries. Using the Static Content page, I added my own
custom form for a detailed design proposal inquiry. There are custom
forms 'addons' offered but after a thorough search, most of them are
really buggy so I avoided them all.
The overall look is a trick of the template. You must learn all the
aspects before trying on your own template. I've used a sample and
hacked it apart in Dreamweaver. There are also dreamweaver Mambo
pluggins and tutorials along with them to speed up your own templates.
