Well, what I did was, in my spare time, I'd go to someplace like Barnes & Noble or Borders and see what they had in the way of PHP books. Also, I can highly recommend PHP.net (the official homepage of PHP, of course) and Tizag.com. And I'm sure there are other good PHP tutorial sites, too, so I'd say Google around for 'em.
Anyways, that's what I did, and now I have two sites I've created that use PHP (one for my church, the other being one for a small town I grew up close to and also where I went to grade school in my younger years), plus I'm not too far from being done with a PHP/MySQL-equipped site I'm creating for the church we went to where we moved here from, back in Lexington, KY.
