Hey there, I am new to all this, so I hope I make sense.
I have installed Apache, PHP, and MySQL on my Windows machine. Apache and PHP are working great; I created test templates and it's all set. Additionally, MySQL is working great for me too. I have tested it out from the commmand prompt and I am able to create databases, etc. However, I am trying to get PHP to connect to the MySQL and it's not working. My php file is failing on the mysql_connect call. Everything before this call shows up, and then it stops. I have read all the documentation and I've changed the php.ini file so that the MySQL extension is enabled. I'm pretty certain that I have followed everything correctly, and I am totally stuck. It's driving me crazy! I'm not sure if I have described my problem clearly enough, and it's hard to diagnose problems without really seeing how things are set up on my machine... but if there is anyone out there who can help me, I would totally appreciate it.
