Difference between PHP4 and PHP5 and OOPs consepts are described in PHP help - download it from http://www.php.net/docs.php I found a good explaination of MVC in the book 'AJAX in Action' but it might be hard to find it free in the Internet. But you could also use google - i just typed 'MVC' and got lots of links to quite good explaination of it.
