ID: 63273 Updated by: paj...@php.net Reported by: patjahsd at gmail dot com Summary: Download webpage sucks bigtime -Status: Assigned +Status: Not a bug Type: Bug Package: Website problem Operating System: W7 PHP Version: 5.3.17 -Assigned To: pajoye +Assigned To: Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: It is really amazing to see someone with such great writing abilities but totally missing the announcements about the end of the MSI (installer) support. Also the version is set as 5.3.17, and you certainly already noticed, there are installers available for PHP 5.3. 5.4 has stopped to support MSIs. There is no bug here, however thanks for making this day less boring by posting such lovely report. ps: I suppose W7 is meant as Windows 7. Please look at http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.php for easy and straightforward steps to install php on windows (IIS, apache, etc.) or use tools like xamp (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/index.html) or phpmanager (http://phpmanager.codeplex.com/). For further love letters and support, please post them to the php install or general mailing lists (http://www.php.net/mailing-lists.php). I have just spent 5 hours trying to find the installer, which due to the incompetence of some bozo is not easy to find. Going to the windows binaries page, you open it, and all you see is the binaries for 5.4.7. Where is the installer? IT DOESN'T EXIST. Until you scroll down, you cannot find the installer. And no one who installs at first will select an older version. You always install the latest version. Can't the moron who maintains this page at least put a hint that there is no installer for 5.4.7 on the page? This is really annoying. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=63273&edit=1 -- PHP Webmaster List Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
