The problem is the system is very fragile the way that it's been neglected for so many years. So it's very hard to introduce new features to it without the potential for breaking 45 other things. That's mostly why progress is very slow on this front. We definitely want something better so a hack just won't cut it for me right now. That's why I'll need to refactor the approach before push any more changes.
