 New Comment:

if you are a bugreporter without a php.net account you have to provide a
password
when you create a bug which we will prompt you when you want to change a bug
reported by you.
my guess is that you were not logged in and used the Edit tab insted of the
Developer tab, which then will prompt for the said password.

No problem on other services. Looks like now it's working fine on bugs.php.net
too.

The other day, it was giving me only one password field (and no username field)
and didn't accept my password. Don't know how I got there, though.

Closing the bug. Thanks.

Can you log into other php.net sites, such as
https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php or the Wiki?

Description:
------------
My php.net password is 24 characters and looks like bugs.php.net cannot handle
it, causing me not be able to change the status of bugs.
