There in lies the problem. Merging changes on github will merge the changes to
the github repo. Not the canonical git.php.net repo. GitHub is only a mirror.
That as you can imagine causes boatload of problems 😀

We have our own account system and our own karma system. We are not migrating
to GitHub.
All we are doing is mirror our repo on GitHub so external people can submit
pull request through their interface since that is the cool thing todo these
days 😄
