@philip howdy! Tho unrelated to the bug report but might be useful for future 
endeavours; What is the root cause of mysqli always acting so weird as the only 
extension on the manual? Is this some conflict, alias issue or? Because it 
seems like there always is an issue with mysqli one way or another and perhaps 
its time we fix them once and for all.
