ID: 60735 Updated by: [email protected] Reported by: danielc at analysisandsolutions dot com Summary: reporting bugs with patches is cumbersome -Status: Open +Status: Wont fix Type: Bug Package: Website problem PHP Version: Irrelevant -Assigned To: +Assigned To: cmb Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: Well, for a long time there is the alternative option to provide pull requests[1], and that is the preferred way to submit patches, so I don't think that the way to attach patches will be improved. Can this be closed? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2012-01-12 22:03:21] danielc at analysisandsolutions dot com https://pear.php.net/bugs/report.php?package=Services_Akismet does it the way I'm suggesting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2012-01-12 22:02:00] danielc at analysisandsolutions dot com Description: ------------ The process of submitting a new bug report with a patch is very awkward. You fill in the patch on the first page, but then it gets lost on the confirmation screen (where you look at similar bugs). So you have to fill it in again. But then that submission doesn't accept the patch, so the bug gets created and you get forwarded to the patch attachment page. The first page should just have a check box asking if you have a patch, then forward you to the patch attachment page upon bug acceptance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=60735&edit=1 -- PHP Webmaster List Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
