After reading this item:

http://us2.php.net/manual/en/faq.installation.php#faq.installation.apache2

I understand why it's a bad idea to run Apache2 on Unix/Linux. But that FAQ also seems to say it's not such a bad idea to run Apache2 on Windows:

>>>
The major feature that draws people to Apache 2 is threading. On Windows where most basic libraries are, and must be, threadsafe, Apache 2 does actually make sense and it would be good to work out the kinks on that platform. However, on UNIX there are a lot of basic libraries where thread safety is an unknown.
<<<

So it sounds like other than "kinks" to be worked out, the major security issues that make it a bad idea to run Apache2 on Unix do not exist on Windows. Further, the end of the FAQ says:

>>>
At this point in its development, Rasmus still maintains that one is better off simply sticking with Apache 1 for serving up PHP pages with the one caveat that Apache 1 sucks pretty badly on Windows.
<<<

Can anyone share from experience some of the problems with either Apache1 or Apache2, +PHP, on Windows (XP)?

Thanks,
