ini_set() does work, i use it all the time with linux and win2k. :-) Could you be more specific, and give an example of something that's not working -- as Colin mentioned, some values are not changeable and there might be other restrictions setup... if you're on a shared server, perhaps the admin. turned off ini_set() for security reasons (although it sounds like you're running this locally)
