No problem...

Just out of curiosity, did you run "dcomcnfg" and configure Microsoft Word
security properties?
And what version of Office do you use (including service packs)?

Just trying to eliminate all that can be wrong on my setup...

Thanks,

Hello Michelle,

M> security properties?

Didn't run it ..

Just ran it and got the following ...

The CLSID {b58c2440-a1a3-11d1-B024-006097c9a284}, item c:\program
files\microsoft office\office\1033\msohelp.3x3 and title msohelp key
search dialog has the named value appid, but is not recorded under
\\hkey_classes_root\appid. Do you wish to record it?

But other than that looking at the security settings it looks like
default settings ..

Let me know what you would like checked.

M> And what version of Office do you use (including service packs)?

Microsoft Word 2000 9.0.2720 (from about in word).

M> Just trying to eliminate all that can be wrong on my setup...

Fully understand .. let me know what else you need, I will try to
help.

The odd this is .. just a couple of days ago I tried installing Apace
and php on my laptop here .. and couldn't get the two to talk at all.
 Same setup (dif versions) as my production server but ..

So I copied a working version from another disk and it worked. Then I
installed 4.2.2 and copied the php4ts files to system .. then it
worked.

I think this Apache/PHP/Windows is not a perfect world for
installation <G>

Anyway .. let me know

I cant figure out whether this is a PHP problem, apache problem or the board
that im using.

I am posting this to each respective place.

I am using dyndns's services, and heres the problem

If I access my website through localhost or the ip of the internal machine,
there is no problem. But when I use dyndns's host, the pages dont load HALF
the time. Sometimes I get the correct page, and sometimes I get the page I
should. there doesnt seem to be any real corellation between getting it and
not getting it. Hit reload a couple of times and it pops up.

If anyone has any thoughts, or anything to try, please let me know

Thanks

PHP is nowhere near any of the gear that affects this, so I can't see how
PHP could possibly cause this. Sounds like the dyndns lookup isn't always
working. Try manually looking up your dyndns address and see if you
always get the right ip.

I'd like to know if is possible to run a mysql script (the one dumped for
backup reasons) through a php page. My problem is that I don't telnet access
to the Mysql database and function exec doesn't work(for security reasons
probably).
So, is it difficult to use a php-script to restore back my dumpt database?

Thank you in advance for your time and sorry for the geek questions,
crizz

Hello all, I seem to be having problems with getting cookies to set
correctly. I use the following code:
___________________________________________________

header("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT");
header("Last-Modified: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s") . " GMT");
header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate");
header("Cache-Control: post-check=1, pre-check=1", false);
header("Pragma: no-cache");

setcookie("User", $_POST['user']);
setcookie("FirstName", $row["first_name"]);
setcookie("LastName", $row["last_name"]);
setcookie("Ext", $row["EXT"]);
setcookie("Department", $row["dept"]);

\\and to display it:
<TABLE border = 1>
        <TR>
        <TH>First Name:</TH>
        <TH>Last Name:</TH>
        <TH>Extension:</TH>
        <TH>Department:</TH>
        </TR>
        <TR>
        <TD><?=$_COOKIE['FirstName']?></TD>
        <TD><?=$_COOKIE['LastName']?></TD>
        <TD><?=$_COOKIE['Ext']?></TD>
        <TD><?=$_COOKIE['Department']?></TD>
        </TR>
</TABLE>
___________________________________________________
The problem it that the cookie does not set itself the first time the page
is loaded. It gives the following error:
Notice: Undefined index: FirstName in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\helpdesk\menu.php
on line 37
Once you hit the reload button it works fine.
And if the cookie is set and the user logs back into the page with a
different user name then the old info is still set in the cookie until you
hit the reload button.
Thanks for the help!

The simplest solution is to check that you followed the instructions
explicitly, and that your file does not have a hidden file extension
of txt instead of what it should be.

belay that; I see you sent this to a Windows list so you are using
Windows. In that case, simply verify that the changes were made as
instructed, and _you_ put any executables or dlls in the correct
place, and that you restarted the server. I would also check again
that you do not have a hidden file extension.

The installation tutorials at
http://www.thickbook.com/extra/index.html?t=in do provide instructions
for updated software versions.
