Hi
If there are problems with Apache2, then is 1.3 okay to continue using? I
mean is 2 much better?

Pat

Hi people!
    I have MySQL working with ASP under win2000 and IIS. I have recently
tried unsuccessfully to install PHP. Initially I started with zip binary
distribution. I tested it with:-
<html>
<head>
<title>PHP Test</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
<?php echo "Hello World<p>"; ?>
</body>
</html>
Couldn't be much simpler!

Nothing worked but "view source" showed the above code. The implication
being that the sever did not parse the code.
I then deleted every thing and tried "InstallShield" with exactly the same
result.
I have reinstalled IIS - no change
I have added PHP to the application mapping.
I have given exec permissions to C:/PHP
The setup instructions say that I must rename PHP TO PHP.INI in WINNT and
that is all. Is this true. If not what precisely must I do?
Failing the .INI question I think I have done everything in the OPINS. But
you guys will know better. What have I missed?
All thoughts gratefully appreciated
Thanks Bob

OS
Windows XP Profession (With Service Pack 1, fully up to date)

Running
- Abyss 1X
- PHP 4.2.3
- MySQL 3.23.53-max-nt

The Problem
On startup, the computer loads fine. The webserver can be connected to via
http://scryt.no-ip.com and the site works fine. Access from any PC on and
off the network works perfectly. However, after a varying period of time,
the computer will completely crash and self restart. Windows will report
that a critical error occured which it 'recovered' from.

Below are logs created by Windows and Abyss messuring system performance
just before the crash, the cause of which eludes me.

The last file loaded is a php generated image file (Using GD 1, not 2).
After this point, both log files contain total rubbish.

I turned down max parrelle connections to 5, and also turned on advanced
logging (as seen above). Hoped this would help...

Okay, I give up. I had no idea what could be causing it. Anyone got any
ideas/want more infomation? I am pretty certain this is an Abyss issue, but
it only happens when using PHP in combination with.

Before you tell me to change server:
Xitami - Has some issues with php, especially with phpBB login page
Apache - OMG, I couldn't understand how to change its settings or anything.
Not user friendly. Full stop
IIS - Works fine, but has a limit on users so gives alot of 403:9 errors
(too many users). This stopped one person from connecting completely

Stephen
