The only problem with pico is that when your line wraps, it actually
adds a hard break.
You can see how this can be an issue, and it can cause mysterious
problems -- especially with buggy browsers that render whitespace in HTML.
Otherwise, it's a good, lightweight editor -- I'd probably still be
using it.
Emacs is a "graphic" editor akin to pico, but won't add stupid linebreaks.
VI is harder to use initially, but worth the effort IMHO.
It's powerful search and replace features alone make it worth learning.
There are plenty of VI tutorials, cheat sheets and crash courses on google.
