Hehehe...in this case the hosting problem is in-house. We could not get
the GD library to install on Windows XP (I posted this problem about a
week ago here, but I only got one response, basically confirming that
this was near impossible for that person too) and my sysadmin will not
allow ImageMagick because it requires slack security on cmd.exe. So I'm
stuck.

Wow, the hosting issues seem a bit unusual, especially due to
the fact
that any recent version of PHP (4.2+ or something?) comes with
the gd
libraries already set up. Does the host just have it shut off
and won't
turn it on for you?
I'm guessing that if the host uses php but has gd and
ImageMagick support
disabled, any other php-based image handling will be shut down
as well.
You may have to go with a static album-building system. If so,
www.irfanview.com has an excellent image file viewer that can be
used to
take a selected group of images and build a thumbnails page and
browsable
image pages automatically.
