Okay, okay, now that we've all gotten out the rulers and pulled down the zippers, I'll remind you that this is a SERVER problem, not a "general office" problem. I'm glad your "Office Herd" (sheep, no doubt) are warm and fuzzy, but that has nothing to do with the problem you presented.
I told you a simple way to solve the problem that involved putting one line in one file, and instead, you reinstalled a previous version. People who make such choices will continue to enjoy my derision -- no matter how many years they've been shotgunning problems instead of solving them. If you're afraid to "Donk around" with a simple text editor, you shouldn't be messing around with MySQL server software. Here's a nickel, kid. Go get yourself a better IT department. (I apologize for the attitude, but your response shows you've earned it! :-) On 21 Dec 2005, at 05:21, [email protected] wrote: > From: "Brian E Boothe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: RE: Re: MySQL 5.0 here is your Sign Jeromie > > #1, let me explain to you that I've been in the Computer Industry > for 26 > years, and played with linux probably just as long grasshopper, so > Latent > Comment's such as RTFM "oh Please > > This is about migration, and simplicity, im not going to Donk > around > Concerning about Changing ini and getting My.cnf changed, > Developers should > have Changed that on Production and the installer > > And the slam about O/S ? windows Linux Solaris, Linux has a Long > way to pull > itself from being Close to windows Simplicity ("FACT") as far a > general > Desktop user is concerned, throw Linux In a general office > > Herd and watch the IT guys scramble to answers questions for 2 > months,, been > there Done that , I live that Enviroment Everyday, so I reinstalled > 4.0.20 > and it worked and my PHP Code is warm and fuzzy now > > And 234 members of my Office Herd Enjoy trouble free Windows Server > Performance,, (*PHRAK*) (step off) > :::: On two occasions I have been asked [by members of Parliament], 'Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?'
