Yeah, I knew what you meant but couldn't help it to make a bit of fun out of
it. >:-)
If you're trying to learn web administration then you should start with the
operating system that you're the most comfortable with. If this is Fedora
for you then start with Fedora. If you're unfamiliar with Linux itself then
better start becoming familiar with the dozens of linux flavors that are
available these days. Maybe even consider FreeBSD or the Intel-version of
OS-X. And keep in mind that if you want to learn to operate an Apache
webserver then you can also start to familiarize yourself on a Windows
system. (Although in that case some of the documentation about Apache won't
apply to what you are doing.)
Actually, if you want to be a good web administrator then you should
familiarize yourself with as many different configurations that you can come
up with. One way to do this (if you have a powerful system) is to use
virtual machines (like VMWare) and set up a dozen or so virtual machines,
each running their own Linux version and perhaps with different
configurations. You could then have them all run at the same time, thus
basically you would be administrating a dozen webservers. And thus you're
more likely to get into situations that you have to solve as web
administrator.
