I advise you to use mysqlmyadmin. because this kind of executions are very easy
in mysqlmyadmin

auto-increment:

ALTER TABLE `tablename` AUTO_INCREMENT =235

But i would reconsider, use one table as the main, with autoincrement and just
use that id to add itens in the next table.

Subject: [php_mysql] How to change auto_increment fields

I have 2 tables and in the first tablem some rows were lost, now I
need to add them back and set the auto_increment field valeu to the
same I have already in the second table (for keeping the integrity).

So my question is: How can I update/change the value of a
auto_increment field?
