In the normal course of events, Firefox does not report CSS errors.  

And it sounds as though he is trying to run a webpage in the browser
(rather than debug it), because he says

However, the clue to the answer appears to be in the original question:

It's a browser problem, not your code.  The problem lies in Firefox
toolbars, menu bars, etc.

Make sure that you are using the latest version of Firefox, and, if you
are using a different skin, change it for something else.
