I am trying to install MySQL 5.0.45 on Windows XP Pro. The install
seems to go OK but when I get to the configuration wizard, I have the
problems.
What I think happened was that at some point I must have played around
with MySQL and installed it, then removed it. Now I *think* it is
asking me for the original root password. I've tried everything that I
can think that I might have used but no luck.
Is there a hidden file or registry key that needs to be deleted?
Anything like that? Or am I stuck without MySQL on my PC?
