I set this bug to "fix committed" because it's not present in v3.0
however it's unlikely it'll be fixed for the 2.8 series.

Bug description:
V 2.8.2 - Cannot save system settings (Application name, use friendly URL's
etc), no confirmation message is shown and the changes are not saved.
