beeing just a "poor" translator...:-)
I came over the point with install.txt from win-distrib and
install.xml because of the mail with subject [PHP-DOC] Bug #13523: doc_root
where a guy mentionend docs saying to set doc_root for installation
with PWS. Had a look in the manual and saw the diffs.
I didn't know, from which sources install.txt is generated/produced.

@phil: The install.txt says to set doc_root in php.ini, but this is not
mentionend in the manual.
Is it a good idea tell people to set doc_root on win for default?
May be you can spent the time and look at the mentioned mail/bug-report
([PHP-DOC] Bug #13523: doc_root).

The manual says (for php.ini):

"doc_root string
PHP's "root directory" on the server.
Only used if non-empty. If PHP is configured with safe mode,
no files outside this directory are served."

What about doc_root set and PHP not in safe mode?
This point should be clarified, imo.

If I can help, let me know.
