Hi! Cross posting this to pear-dev and phpdoc.
I think it is just time, to drop the PEAR part of the official PHP documentation, and let PEAR people work on the extensively groving manual of PEAR itself, and stick to PHP in the PHP Manual. Now we have the PEAR introduction, coding standards and some reference manual in both places. (see http://www.php.net/manual/en/ and http://pear.php.net/manual/ ) I think it is not that good to confuse people and have such important information both places. In the past I was against letting PEAR and PHP-GTK have their own manuals, but as the PHP manual itself is quite huge, and PHP-GTK and PEAR already has their own manuals, I think we should completely remove the PEAR section from the manual. IMHO we may add a new appendix with some information about relates projects (PHPQA, PHP-GTK, PEAR and thinks like these), so people know we have much more to offer. Goba
